Meet Erinn Gomillion

Growth doesn’t ask permission before it gets heavy.

I am a Leadership Development Partner at Next to Nunn. I spent sixteen years leading real teams through fast growth, tight transitions, and the moments that quietly wear leaders down. Now I work with emerging leaders, managers, and directors who are carrying a team and want to carry it well.

The Story

I have carried the weight leaders carry. I know what it costs.

Sixteen years leading real teams, and I never once called myself a coach during any of them.

I managed a call center with more than 100 agents and 7 supervisors. I sat in the room during a major departmental transition and watched the department grow from 12 teams to 22, the kind of growth that looks great on a slide and feels like chaos from the inside.

Leadership gets heavier in ways nobody warns you about. Accountability gets fuzzy. Burnout goes quiet instead of loud. Decisions that used to belong to someone else land on your desk with no explanation of how they got there.

The leaders I work with are usually in some version of that moment. They are capable and experienced, and they are carrying more than the role was designed to hold. Part of my job is helping them see where the weight is actually coming from.

The Background

From leading teams to developing leaders.

I built my career inside fast-scaling operations in telecommunications and mass media. The work touched all three places friction tends to live.

People

I supervised executive offices, hired and onboarded staff, and worked directly with HR through complex employee relations issues.

I directed large teams of agents and supervisors.

Communication

I aligned cross-functional workflows and managed high-escalation teams across two departments.

Systems

I built onboarding programs, troubleshooting guides, and training systems from the ground up, then watched them hold up under real pressure.

I led enterprise initiatives spanning outage escalation, call quality, and service delivery.

A lot of what I teach now, I learned first under a headset, in a queue, during an outage nobody saw coming.

Who I Work With

Leaders in the middle, responsible for both the results and the people.

I work with emerging leaders, managers, senior managers, and directors. Executive and organization-wide work sits with Amy. Mine is the work of leading people well from the position you hold today. These are the situations that bring leaders to me:

  • You were promoted for doing the work well, and now the work is other people.
  • Your team keeps coming to you for decisions you thought you had handed off.
  • You are absorbing the gap between what leadership asks for and what your team can carry.

Before we choose a practice, we look at where the friction actually sits. Sometimes it is a conversation that never happened. Sometimes it is an expectation nobody stated. Sometimes it is a process that makes the right behavior harder than the wrong one.

What Drives Me

People, not just performance.

I love people. I love watching someone step into what they are actually capable of, and I hate watching someone struggle in a role when the right guidance could change everything for them.

The work I care about most is helping people move into the role they were made for, driven by their own growth and not someone else’s expectations of them.

I do not show up as the expert with all the answers. I show up to observe, to listen, and to help you see what you already know but have not been able to name yet.

“I’ve carried that weight. That’s what makes this work personal.”

What I Believe

The convictions that shape the work.

These are not taglines. They are things I have seen proven true leading real teams, under real pressure.

Empathy comes first.

People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Every conversation starts there.

Clear communication prevents much of the damage.

Team breakdowns usually trace back to something that was never said clearly, or never said at all.

I follow through. Every time.

Trust is not built in the promise. It is built in whether you actually do the thing you said you would do.

Honesty moves people further than comfort does.

A half-answer feels kind in the moment. It does not help anyone grow.

Burnout isn’t a character flaw.

The leaders I meet are rarely lazy or broken. They are carrying more than the role was ever designed to hold.

The right guidance changes where someone ends up.

With the right advocate in their corner, people move from getting by to actually thriving.
